Meet Crina Popa

From an early age, I was always moved by the stories of those around me, and I realized that I had the ability to help others by being empathic and a very good listener. Thus, I followed my passion and pursued an education in a field where I can make a difference in one’s life through counselling.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology and my Bachelor in French and Criminology.

I have over 13 years of experience working in the social service field with individuals and families.

Are you triggered by anything and everything around you? Do you find that being upset becomes part of your daily routine? I can help you by explaining the difference between REACTING and RESPONDING and showing you coping techniques you can use to control your emotions in a healthier way.

Are you sad, confused at a crossroads, and do not know where to turn? Are you emotionally and physically exhausted and feel that there is no hope? I can walk this journey with you, helping you find your way in the dark, where I would be turning on my flashlight so you can see the path.

I believe the emphasis should be on finding the solution, not “marinating” in the problem. While we will start by discussing the issue, we will not make it the focus of our journey. We will be looking for new ways to help you gain coping skills to help you reach the desired destination.

A little more information about Healthy Hive Counselling process

Healthy, because my goal is to help others achieve a healthier self – psychological and physical.

Hive, because I see our collaboration as bees working in a beehive. Bees work heartily and never give up. Reaching the result takes continuous effort and engagement, but it is worth it. In therapy, I can help you best if we have a therapeutic relationship based on trust.

I use an integrative Strength-Based, Solution-Focused therapeutic approach, emphasizing Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness.
The therapeutic approach will be tailored to your UNIQUE needs while providing a safe space.

We will begin by learning about each other and what to expect during our journey together. We will then collaboratively discuss your preferences, what makes you comfortable, and how you would like the sessions to be structured. Your safety and well-being are my priority. Thus, I will respect your pace and support you in every way you need. I will meet you where you are, and we will continue to walk together for the rest of the journey.

In the following sessions, we will explore different coping techniques that we can use to help you in your healing. Imagine walking together on a long corridor with doors on both sides. Together, we will open the first door. We will stay in that room if we find something to work with. If not, we will close that door and open another one.

Each person's journey to healing is as unique as their lived experiences. I will regularly check in with you to monitor your progress and ensure you are receiving the right support. When you feel you've equipped yourself with enough therapeutic tools, you can confidently continue your journey on your own, reaping the rewards of your hard work.
